Sydney Air Conditioning Experts is a specialist air conditioning installation and service business serving all 665 Greater Sydney suburbs. We install and service ducted and split system air conditioning for residential and small commercial properties, with ARCtick licensed technicians on every job and a fully documented installation process from quote through to compliance paperwork.

Sydney Air Conditioning Experts is a trading name of Tropic Cool Air Conditioning (ABN 17 671 019 248), a Sydney-registered air conditioning business. Operating under the Sydney Air Conditioning Experts brand we focus exclusively on Sydney homes and small commercial sites — we don't subcontract regional work, we don't run a franchise model, and we don't pad quotes with travel surcharges within the Greater Sydney service area.

Our Credentials & Insurance

• ARCtick licensed: every technician holds a current Refrigerant Handling Licence issued by the Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC), as required by the Ozone Protection and Synthetic Greenhouse Gas Management Act 1989. Working without an ARCtick licence is illegal in Australia and voids the equipment warranty on day one.
• $20 million public liability insurance and full workers' compensation cover. Certificates of currency available on request before any quote is accepted.
• 5-year workmanship warranty on every install — separate from the manufacturer's 5-year equipment warranty. If a bracket works loose, a drain blocks, or a flare leaks down the track, we come back and fix it at no charge.
• We treat your home with respect: drop sheets on every floor, shoes off inside, all packaging and old equipment removed at the end of the job. The site is left cleaner than we found it.
• 5-year manufacturer warranty on every system we install — registered on your behalf at handover, backed directly by the brand.
• Authorised installer for Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Samsung, ActronAir and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries — six brands with strong Australian distributor support and genuine spare parts availability.

Our Experience & Sydney-Specific Expertise

Our installation team has direct hands-on experience across the full range of Sydney building types — Federation cottages in the Inner West with limited roof access, weatherboard semis in Marrickville and Petersham, double-brick post-war homes in Western Sydney, two-storey project homes in the Hills District, modern strata apartments in the Eastern Suburbs and Northern Beaches, and architect-designed homes on the North Shore. Each property type demands a different approach to ductwork routing, condenser placement, electrical capacity and refrigerant pipework — there is no "one-size-fits-all" install.

Western Sydney suburbs (Penrith, Blacktown, Liverpool, Camden) regularly hit 42–46°C in summer heatwaves and need systems sized for genuine peak load — not catalogue minimums. Coastal suburbs (Manly, Bondi, Cronulla) face salt corrosion that destroys uncoated condensers in 5–8 years, so we specify marine-grade or Blue Fin coil protection on every coastal install. Hills District and inland suburbs experience large diurnal temperature swings, where reverse-cycle heating is just as important as cooling. We are not tied to any single brand — our recommendations are based on what suits your home, budget and suburb, not on commissions. We do not install grey-import or unknown-brand equipment without local distributor support; when something goes wrong in year three, you'll need a real Australian distributor to honour the warranty.

Our Installation Process

1. Free quote & site assessment — usually within 24–48 hours of enquiry. For ducted, we measure the roof cavity, check electrical capacity, confirm zone layout, and quote a fixed price valid for 30 days.
2. Booking & pre-install confirmation — we confirm the install date, parking, access requirements and any strata or council notifications.
3. Installation day — team arrives 7:30–8:00am. Drop sheets down before any tools come out. Indoor unit, outdoor unit, ductwork, refrigerant lines, drainage, electrical and zone controller installed and pressure-tested.
4. Commissioning & handover — system is vacuumed, refrigerant charged to manufacturer spec, run-tested in cooling and heating, and walked through with you. You receive a Compliance Certificate, warranty registration confirmation and operating instructions.
5. Post-install support — we register the manufacturer warranty on your behalf, lodge any required electrical paperwork, and remain your contact point for any service or warranty issues.
